What Hiking South Africa offers

The promotion of hiking

  • we promote hiking as an activity amongst the youth
  • we promote hiking amongst disadvantaged communities

Trail management

  • hiking trail planning, building, maintenance and accreditation
  • assistance with marketing

Training

  • No formal training courses exist. After a hiker joins a club, they will train themselves gradually by going on hikes, picking up information as they go along. Some clubs offer short courses, e.g. how to pack your backpack, a foodlist, etc.
